Now that the temps are starting to warm up here in NYC (hellooooo sunshine and 60s this week!), a chic lightweight jacket is going to be your go-to wardrobe staple. I love spring because the options are endless when it comes to coats (unlike winter, where your options are a black puffer coat or a longer black puffer coat lol). You could go with a trench, bomber, moto jacket, cargo jacket, etc. I chose to style a neutral option here, but color is more than okay! I am currently on the hunt for a baby blue trench and I just bought a blush leather jacket from the Shopbop sale ;) It can be overwhelming to know what to splurge on and what to save on, since there are so many choices when it comes to spring outerwear. Below are my tips for where to save your money this season!
Invest: A classic camel trench coat and a black leather jacket. These pieces will be chic year after year.
Save: A baby blue or blush coat of any style is on trend for 2016, jean jackets (classic blue, white, destroyed, etc), cargo jackets (tan, army green, and navy blue are all great options), a sleeveless trench coat in a neutral color such as ivory or tan is very in this season. I love Old Navy for affordable jean jackets, and Nordstrom Rack has some great trench coats right now!
