Red, White, and Blue

Anyone else SO ready for the long weekend ahead?! The 4th of July might actually be my favorite long weekend of the year to be honest. What's better than friends, family, pool parties, BBQs, ice cream cones, and a cold drink in hand?? The answer is nothing my friends. There is nothing better!

I know that some people like to go all out for the 4th. Flag tank tops, USA shirts, jean shorts with little flag pockets sticking out of the hem (yep they still make these, just saw them in Macy's yesterday!). While I love a good American flag bikini now and then, I prefer to stay away from the clothing pieces that are too obvious. It really limits the amount of times that I can re-wear the items, and I love to get the most bang for my buck with anything I buy! Don't get me wrong, I always think that the girls rocking the 'merica gear look absolutely adorable. And I definitely like to rock a red, white, and blue ensemble. For me, it needs to be something that could also be worn in August and not look like I forgot what month it is!

The look I styled here totally fits the bill for me. It's the perfect mix of casual and elevated. Swap out the slides for heels and you're ready for evening plans. I love the little red sail boat on the tee, it adds the perfect amount of prep (it would be equally as cute with denim cut offs)! And nothing makes me think "Fourth of July" more than seersucker. This skirt is super comfy and light, perfect for the July heat. How do you like to dress the Fourth? Do you prefer to go big, or show your pride more subtly? I would love to hear your thoughts!

I hope that everyone has a safe and fun holiday weekend!
