I would have to say that this year has probably been my favorite New York Fashion Week to date. I met so many bloggers that I've followed on Instagram for years, tried some new fall trends (I never knew how much I loved chokers! And YES, you can pull them off!), and had the opportunity to attend some truly amazing and inspiring fashion shows. If I'm being totally honest, I've been in a bit of a blog slump the past few weeks. For the first time in a long time, the blog has felt like a chore instead of something I'm really excited about. If you follow me on Snapchat (astylishsideprj), you know that I've had some pretty bad writers block lately. I think a lot of it comes from over-stressing about my content, and making sure that I'm creating posts that are "on brand". HOWEVER, if I learned anything from fashion week, it's that you guys are totally open to seeing me try some trendier pieces and be a little more adventurous! This has got me so excited for fall fashion and feeling super inspired about whats to come for A Stylish Side Project. And I also learned the best cure for writers block: speaking from the heart.
Before I sign off on today's post and get back to all the aforementioned exciting stuff I'm working on for fall, I want to quick mention two brands featured that I can't get enough of. First is this
flutter sleeve dress from
Escapada Living. I really can't say enough great things about the quality of this dress. The fabric is soft and thick, the design is on trend and super flattering, and best of all, it's only $78 (Fit tip: Size down, I'm in XS here)! Escapada Living is also dedicated to making the world a better place. All of their clothing is produced in Indonesia, where they own and operate their own small factory. They started the
Escapada Living Children's Fund, which helps give back to the children in the areas surrounding the factory! I also want to mention my gorgeous olive green
GiGi New York bucket bag. It was the perfect size for all of my fashion week needs (i.e. wallet, phone, charger, water bottle, make up, and flats for when my feet got tired!), and the color is right on trend for fall.
I hope you guys enjoyed the honesty in todays post, and PLEASE let me know what kinds of content you want to see for fall! I'm all ears!
